King Shocks Presents:

2014 Mint 400 Race Highlights

The 2014 Mint 400 was a premiere event, featuring the largest field of trick trucks ever with 57, and nearly 100 unlimited entries. King Shocks was there to dial in their racers in preparation for one of the most grueling and intense races in off-road history!

With a rapidly deteriorating course and a massive field of racers, it was clear that a set of finely tuned King Shocks were a distinct advantage in the brutal terrain for racers Tavo Vildosola, BJ Baldwin, Jason Voss, Harley Letner, Dan McMillin & many more.

2014 King of the Hammers Race Recap

Through the vast stretches of epic desert to the rugged and intense battles of the rock trails this race truly puts even the best off-road racers to the test, King Shocks was there every second up until race hour to insure top performance for all of their drivers.

Join King Shocks at the 2014 King of The Hammers race week as their drivers take home epic victories as well as some insight into the King Shocks brand and their constant support for their professional drivers and customers.

King Shocks presents:

King internal bypass shock, IBP.

King Shocks has just released a unique internal bypass shock that does not have the drawbacks of the common twin tube design. The King IBP internal bypass shock delivers precisely tunable velocity sensitive and position sensitive damping as well as a hydraulic bump stop in a bolt-on monotube shock. King's monotube design uses a full diameter piston and standard, full size valving. It's built from the same quality materials and to the same precise tolerances as King's top of the line Pure Race series shocks. Mounted to the shaft below the standard piston, a second set of valving is housed in a billet aluminium chamber that contains valve shims and port openings that allow fluid to bypass the standard piston by flowing through ports into the shock's hollow shaft.

Herder vs Halopoff

Parker Arizona has long been known for its stunning natural beauty and quiet laidback charm. What should be a nice place to ease into the Best in the Desert race season instead has become a torturous race that tests the limits of the drivers, crews and their vehicles. For two years in a row, the race has started under tranquil skies only to deteriorate into heavy afternoon rainstorms. Parts of the course were either standing puddles or running rivers. When the wet sandy mud dries, it works like 40 grit sandpaper to grind away at the moving parts of the vehicle and the wills of the cold, wet competitors. Even with a two-hour extension of the cut-off time, due to the rain, the finishing rate was only thirty percent of the field who started.
